Aging of the hands can be treated with lipoenxertia
Many people say that it is possible to recognize the age of someone by the hands. Usually, the major aging features in this region are thin skin on the back of the hand and visibility of vessels and tendons, as well as brownish-darkened spots.
Formerly it was said that it was more difficult to do rejuvenation treatments in this region, but this is no longer true. Current techniques for rejuvenating hands involve both dermatological and plastic surgery. Prevention for early hand aging includes the use of moisturizers and sunscreen daily. The spots on the skin can be softened with peeling and laser.
Now the thinning skin on the hand can only be replaced with something that can give volume and "stretch" the skin. Until recently, a temporary option is to fill with hyaluronic acid which can improve the appearance of the hand for a few months. Another option most recently adopted and illustrated in a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery article of December 2015 is the use of lipoenxertia.
Unlike injected hyaluronic acid, lipoenxertia promotes prolonged durability and efficacy, replacement of volume loss by a patient's own tissue, and possibly regeneration of the dermis. The procedure of lipoenxertia works like this: fat is removed using a small cannula attached to a syringe in the region of the inside of the thigh, but can also be removed near the knee or of the belly ("little hands"). The fat is treated in a centrifuge and the highest part of the fat is used to be replaced on the back of the hand with another very delicate cannula. The fat fills the empty spaces of the hand that evidence the tendons and superficial vessels, leaving a more uniform aspect of the hand. In five years of treatment, the study authors did not observe any complications. Sometimes, more fat or even biocompatible filling may be needed.
Contraindications for the hand lipoenxertia procedure are: hand abnormality, some disorders including clotting disorder, lipid metabolism disorder, active infection, and severe chronic diseases.
We believe that this procedure is very safe and brings rapid results and without the stigma that has been operated on. The patient may return to his / her activities practically the next day if there is no contraindication to the surgeon.
It is important to keep hair well cared for all year round. And in the season where there is more exposure to the sun, salt water and chlorine, the locks require special attention so that they do not spend the following months in recovery regime. For Nilva Bezerra, a hairdresser at Vanity Fashion Hair in São Paulo, it is best to start taking care of her hair during the time you are at the pool and at the beach, and not just afterwards.
Mesotherapy consists of the application of medicinal substances to the skin, below it or in the muscles, for specific purposes. Usually it is applied for treatment of white streaks, localized fat and even hair loss. Several compounds can be applied, which are mixed according to the patient's complaint.
