ANS determines suspension of the sale of 38 health plans

A The National Health Insurance Agency (ANS) ordered the suspension of the sale of 38 health plans from 14 operators, due to complaints related to healthcare coverage, such as negative and delayed care, received in the first quarter of 2017. Of the 14 operators that are in this cycle, four had already suspended plans in the previous period, from the fourth quarter of 2016, and ten were not in the last one hanging list. Six operators could re-market 30 products that had the sale suspended. Three were released to re-market all products that were suspended and three had partial reactivation.

In this cycle, the ANS received 14,537 complaints of an assistance nature in its service channels, from January 1 to March 31. Of this total, 12,360 complaints were considered for analysis by the Assistance Warranty Monitoring program.

According to the agency, the beneficiaries of the plans that have been suspended continue to have regular assistance until the operators solve their problems and can receive new beneficiaries.
