Anvisa prohibits sale of children's food from six companies

The National Agency of Sanitary Surveillance (Anvisa) banned the manufacture, distribution, marketing and advertising of children's foods from six companies because of the absence of sanitary records . The measure was published in the Federal Official Gazette (DOU) on Monday (19).

According to the agency, suspended foods are of the category of transitional foods, those industrialized for direct use or employed in home preparation , used as a complement to breast milk (from zero to 12 months of age) and to infants (from 12 months to 3 years of age).

Thus, since they are part of the gradual adaptation to common foods, sanitary registration is mandatory.
