The National Sanitary Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) suspended the commercialization of lot 38736 (Val 12/2017) of Atenolol tablet 25mg tablet. The resolution was published in the Official Gazette (DOU) on Monday, April 10.

According to the report issued by Fundação Ezequiel Dias / FUNED, the lot of the drug for arterial hypertension presented an unsatisfactory result in the dissolution test (dissolution values ​​below the sanitary specification)

The generic medicine is manufactured by the company Vitamedic Indústria Farmacêutica Ltda, which should collect all the existing stock in the market.

In addition, Anvisa also prohibited the distribution and sale of lot M22926 of the antiseptic Chlorhexidine Gluconate of the company Vic Pharma Indústria e Comércio Ltda.

Analysis reports issued by the Adolfo Lutz Institute showed unsatisfactory results related to bacterial count. Thus, what led to the suspension of the batch of Chlorhexidine, 1% topical solution, was the unobtainable limit of mesophilic aerobic bacteria.
