Changes in birth, marriage and death certificates take effect

Changes in birth, marriage and death certificates take effect

Starting this Tuesday (21) are valid the new rules for birth certificate, marriage and death. The National Council of Justice (CNJ) changed the records that now include the CPF number in all documents, such as birth certificate, marriage and death.

One of the changes made is that now the documents should have the term "filiation" and not more "parents", so it will be possible to contemplate the most varied forms of family, such as having two parents, two mothers, one mother and two parents, and so on.

The new rule will prevent a gap in the parent's identification from being blank, for example, from an unknown parent. In addition, the step-parent's name may be included on the birth certificate.

This rule also applies to couples who have had children through assisted reproduction techniques such as surrogacy and donation of genetic material. In this case, the legislation removes the requirement for identification of the donor of genetic material in the child's birth record.

Following the rules of the law sanctioned by the President of the Republic, Michel Temer, the child's naturalness need not necessarily be the where she was born. In this way, the child may be a citizen of the municipality where the child was born or of the mother's biological or adoptive home, provided that within the national territory.

In the death certificates, the release of all documents will allow the automatic cancellation of the documents of the deceased by the public agencies, contributing to the reduction of fraud.

The deadline for all the offices of the country to be adjusted to the change is January 2018. For this, they will have to be connected in the cadastral system of the Internal Revenue Service .
