Even small amounts of physical activity can reduce the risk of heart disease, says a study by researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health and published in the journal Circulation. According to experts, the more exercises people do, the lower the chance of complications in the cardiovascular system.

The study was based on more than 3,000 previous studies on the relationship between physical exercise and vascular disease, in addition to accompanying a group of people who exercised weekly.

The study authors found that practicing 150 minutes - the equivalent of two and a half hours of exercise per week lowered the risk of heart disease by 14%. The researchers, however, warn that the ideal would be to practice at least 300 minutes (five hours) of exercises weekly, and for this activity to have some effect, it is necessary

Tackling stress also benefits the heart

In addition to the practice of physical exercise, controlling the level of stress is essential to prevent heart disease, especially for women.
