This was maintained for 12 weeks, while researchers looked at the parallel intake of nutrients by volunteers, such as proteins, carbohydrates and vitamin C, as well as their body composition and markers such as glycemia, insulin, cholesterol, triglycerides and liver enzymes. analysis, they noticed that orange juice did not prevent weight loss of the participants and the weight loss registered between the groups was the same: less six kilos in three months, eliminating 8% fat and 3% muscle mass.
In addition to weight loss, the orange juice group had a reduction in glucose, insulin, triglycerides, total cholesterol and LDL levels. There was also a reduction of fat in the liver, with a decrease in the number of liver enzymes, reducing inflammation in the organ.
