Nausea in pregnancy can lead to behavioral disorders in children
Of the 150 women who responded, 55 had mothers who also suffered from this condition and therefore their siblings were also exposed to HG in the uterus. Already 95 had mothers who did not go through HG and, therefore, their brothers were not exposed to evil. There were a total of 87 siblings of the exposed group (the "cases" group) and 172 of the non-exposed group (the "control" group).
The researchers found that 16% of siblings in the exposed group had depression, compared to 3% of the group not exposed; 8% of the first group were diagnosed with bipolar disorder, compared to 2% of the second group; and 7% of the HG group experienced adult anxiety, compared to 2% in the control group.
According to researchers, these higher rates may be caused by malnutrition and prolonged dehydration of mothers during fetal brain development. Anxiety and stress, which are common during and after pregnancy with HG, may also play a role in the picture. Previous studies have found that children of mothers who experienced persistent nausea during the first trimester of pregnancy have more attention problems and learning by the age of 12. Other studies have also found that malnourished fetuses, a frequent result of HG, have a healthier fragility in adulthood.
Morning sickness may be hereditary
Another research, from the University of Florida (USA), published by British Medical Journal reports that the sickness felt by the mother during pregnancy can be transmitted to the daughter when she is expecting a baby.
According to the survey, conducted with 500,000 pairs of mothers and daughters, about 30% of the daughters suffered the same symptoms observed in their mothers during gestation.
About 45% of the volunteers presented similar nausea, but not with the same intensity and only 25% of them did not present any problem.
The researchers explain that this happens because the genetic load which characterizes the fragility of certain substances in pregnancy causing nausea is transmitted from mother to daughter and so the chances of the symptoms repeating is up to 70%. These results point to a breakthrough in genetic transmission studies that manifest through symptoms, but further studies are needed to better understand this relationship.
Causes of nausea
Nausea attacks, on average, 80% of pregnant and occur basically due to the absence of the placenta, which begins to form only from the 12th week of gestation - not for nothing, the moment when the symptom usually disappears. The reverse also happens, that is, packs in the stomach caused by excess placenta - as in the pregnancy of twins or fetuses weighing more than four kilos. The baby, very large, presses the gastric tube and the stomach, disrupting the functioning of the digestive system, hence the discomfort.

We can classify as difficulty getting pregnant, the couple who made attempts during the fertile period for 12 months, to no avail. As a general rule, as long as there is no well-defined cause, 85% of women become pregnant during this time. For women over 35 years, untreated attempts should be reduced to 6 months.
