Oral fungus causes common oral infection
If you want to avoid or control a common infection popularly known as thrush, you have one more reason to visit your dentist, especially if you have diabetes, wear a prosthesis, or have some problem with the immune system.
Also called candidiasis, the fungal infection causes painful white spots on the tongue or the inside of the cheeks. The lesions may bleed slightly when shaved or when you brush your teeth. Sometimes, oral candidiasis spreads to the roof of the mouth, gums, tonsils, or the back of the throat.

The Dallas County Health Service in Texas (United States) has released the first case of Zika virus transmission to someone who has not left the country. The agency believes the transmission was sexual, although the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, free translation) had not confirmed this information and was investigating the case.
