Position you sleep can influence your dreams
Nightmares are very common, and when they are occasional, there is nothing to worry about. However, if they are frequent and disturb the quality of sleep, it is necessary to investigate this situation. The relationship between sleep quality and dream frequency is a subject much investigated by researchers. In the study named as "Sleeping Position, Dream Emotions and Subjective Sleep Quality" (Sleep Position, Emotions of Dreams and Subjective Quality of sleep), published in 2004, found that those who slept on the left had more nightmares than the rest.
For analysis, the researchers studied the sleep patterns of 63 people (45 men and 18 women). They asked 41 of them to sleep on the right and 22 on the left. After a night's sleep, the volunteers answered questions about their ability to remember what they dreamed of, the frequency of nightmares, and the emotional state in which they awoke.
The results showed that volunteers who slept on the left had more nightmares than the rest . Already those who slept on the right side reported having dreams with good feelings, such as relief, for example. However, the "right-wing" group had the most reports of not having slept so well despite good dreams.
Other research by researchers at Hong Shu Yan University in China has highlighted the relationship between the position in that people sleep and their dreams. In this study 670 adults were investigated.
The analysis showed that participants who had a habit of sleeping face down had their dreams more vivid and positive. Some volunteers even reported having dreamed of aliens and having sex with celebrities.
Although studies are small, they certainly suggest that the sleeping position affects our dreams. And you agree with that?
The world of work has increasingly required of its collaborators. It is not just technical knowledge. It takes increasing skill in human relationships, adapting to change, and creativity. Therefore, emotional intelligence has been increasingly discussed. But how to get out of the discourse and perfect our bodily resources so that we may actually have transformations of the emotions and repetitive thoughts that keep us from evolving?
Smoking is linked to a sense of well-being for the smoker. And this statement is so well established that it is hard to believe when a study emerges that relates cigarette smoking to more cases of anxiety and depression. And this is what a recent study of the University College London and British Heart Foundation , released in March 2015 proves.
