Researchers create smart bracelet to regulate body temperature

Nobody likes to feel too cold or too hot, the only solutions we have to solve with these hot flashes are: put on many sweaters or live from air conditioning. To make it no longer a problem, a team of scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has developed a wristband that can control body temperature.

Named Embr Wave, the product allows you to press a button and regulate body temperature instantly. "It's a product for people with a lot of heat or cold, which offers thermal relief," revealed Embr Labs co-founder Sam Shames.

However, the bracelet does not really change its temperature, in fact it uses tricks to that body and brain perceive a slightly different temperature. "What it does is that it warms and cools a point on your body and helps you to improve your comfort without changing your core temperature," said Sam.

The item sends to body a feeling of cooling or heating through the sensitive skin of the wrist. In this way, when nerves feel a direct adjustment of heat or cold, a signal is sent to your brain and so the magic happens.

According to the researchers, feeling too hot or cold can completely change the mood of a person, so this regulation can bring more benefits than many might imagine.

The production of the bracelet was made through collective funding on the Kick Starter and lifted 4 times more than expected. The product is already in pre-order for $ 299 (approximately 955 reais) and deliveries start in February 2018. In addition, the bracelet features a rechargeable battery that lasts for more than 25 sessions in a single charge. Check out the Embr Wave bracelet video:

Every year, I set aside two weeks to search the new trends for weddings outside Brazil. The idea is simply to look, follow the marriages, imagine what can be adapted to the reality of the Brazilian bride and groom and keep me updated on what is most surprising and cool outside. It is a delicious, tiring and important marathon.
