Running for half an hour may increase life expectancy in 10 years

A study published by Brigham & Young says only 30 minutes of running a day, five times a week can increase life expectancy in more than 10 years.

Research shows that those who exercise regularly can slow down cell aging. It is worth remembering, however, that the practice of exercises must be intense so that the expected result is achieved.

This is because those who exercise more have the longer telomeres (chromosome structures). The lengths of telomeres have a strong correlation with a person's age and over time they become shorter and shorter, thus causing aging. In addition, the practice of running could even delay the appearance of wrinkles and gray hair. Exercise science professor Larry Trucker explains that it is not because a person is biologically 40 years old that he needs to look that old. "The more physically active, the lower the biological aging," he points out.

Even sitting, moving your legs helps protect the arteries

Even sitting, moving your legs helps protect the arteries

To do this, the researchers verified the vascular function of 11 healthy young people, before and after three hours of sitting. The volunteers were advised to tap one leg for one minute and rest for four. As a result, scientists measured blood flow in an artery of the legs and found that a brief movement brings a significant increase in blood flow from the site in question.
