Suzana Gullo talks about her fight against breast cancer
The last six months were difficult for the family of Suzana Gullo, the wife of the presenter Marcos Mion. On the afternoon of Saturday (20), she published on her Instagram an exhilarating account of her fight against breast cancer, discovered by her husband. She finished her chemotherapy sessions and now must start radiotherapy, as well as other medical follow-ups.
Below, check out in full the report by Suzana, who turned 40 last Sunday (21):
"
Thank you for all the benefits you have given me, thank you for accompanying me during the last six months and showing me that the best of me did not even know me Thank you for showing me the strength and courage I discovered to have, day after day.Thank you for teaching me that exhausting tiredness, constant discomfort, nausea, fatigue, pains I never imagined, rapid change of appearance, among many others
I always promise to defend you above all else and I promise you that if I do not, I will not be able to do it. I must pass on a secret that I have discovered about you. You are much more efficient and less devastating when you work with belief and faith. My Catholic faith and that of all those who love me have proved this to me about you.
My Father and Lord, without you we are nothing. My fight was and always will be for my family, for my love ... for LIFE !! We will always win TOGETHER !! Without you, my loves, this walk would not be possible the way it was. All my courage, strength and confidence came from my Lord, my God and my family.
So I need to thank Jesus and Our Lady first for being with me at all times, giving me much peace, serenity and trust . Even when physically there was no one by my side, I always felt their presence and knew they were with me.
Thank you my loves, my HUSBAND, my doctors, my children, my mother, my father, brothers, in-laws, my in-laws and dear friends who during this time were my everything! My base, strength, joy, confidence and serenity.
The worst is over, we won! But the treatment is not over yet. We have radiotherapy from the front, follow-ups, etc., but that's it. Let it come! I have faith and trust in the path that God has drawn for me.
I just have to THANK, especially for the early discovery made by my husband that was certainly a sign of God. With Faith, we do not lack anything.
Of course, it is not easy for any woman to receive a diagnosis, even if early, of breast cancer. Even more before 40, that was my case. We have several stages, the questioning, the sadness, the fear, the dissatisfaction, until we reach acceptance. And with it comes the courage, the fight! For me, faith was and always will be a great ally. Thank you every day for having God in my family. I always lay my walk on him! As my spiritual director, a priest, has taught me, sometimes we need to borrow God's eyes, as John Paul II did, when we go through tribulations that are difficult to understand. The eyes of God show us the whys. I believe that the cross is the sign of Christ. It has ceased to be the symbol of evil to be the symbol of victory.
It is very good to be able to speak about all this, for as my husband says, everything has its time and I feel mine has now. Our life is made of moments, of joys, of sadness, uncertainty, happiness. Life presents us with many obstacles, but it is here and there that it shows us that everything has a motive to be lived, nothing is given to us without the condition of overcoming. It is in the difficulties and tb in the joys that, with the grace of God, we draw strength for our growth, evolution and wisdom. And knowing that nothing is eternal, we have to strike a balance in the certainty that "this too shall pass."
Breast cancer needs to be well publicized, it is very important that all women know the importance of frequent screening, self examination, even before the age of 40. Husbands can and should help. I need a lot to say that in my case, as I said, who discovered it was my husband. My routine exam would be in November and look how many months he anticipated! 10 months! It made all the difference, since my type was fast growing. Yes, we are very Catholic and I believe it was a sign of God, but what really matters is that husbands can help!
I know that not all women are lucky enough to have an early breakthrough, so here is our family appeal, routine medical exams, self-exams, and self-exams. also tests of the touch of the husband!
A kiss, Suzana and family Gullo Mion. "
